The Fairbanks Folk Fest board members are musicians, event organizers, and individuals from the community who share an appreciation for folk music. The volunteer board members collaborate to produce the activities presented by the Fairbanks Folk Fest organization. Activities include the two music festivals that is professionally presented to provide an opportunity for musicians to perform before an audience and for the community to enjoy a "free" live concert performance.
