Cooper Landing, which is spread out along nearly ten miles of the scenic Sterling Highway, is the main community located in this area. The rugged terrain allows visitors the opportunity to "spend
time with nature."
The rivers and lakes in this area possess a deep emerald green glow, cause by glacial silt.

Photograph the magnificent scenery and wildlife.
Pack a lunch and hike to Lower Russian River Falls or any of the numerous hiking trails.
Take a flightseeing trip for spectacular photos.
Try your hand at gold panning in one of the first known gold strike areas in Alaska.
Lake or stream fish for salmon, rainbow trout, dolly varden & Arctic grayling.
